Alyssa & Nick | Ford Piquette Plant

Detroit, Michigan

I am always amazed by how humble and down-to-earth some couples can be while planning their wedding. Alyssa and Nick were no exception. I still see Alyssa when donating wedding flowers at the senior home where she works. I love giving flowers a second life, and she shares in the joy brought to the residents' quiet lives.

Alyssa and Nick, their family, and their friends were all such incredible people that I am continuously thankful to do what I do.

Alyssa and Nick were married at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica in Royal Oak, Michigan. They did not have a first look and chose to have their first moment together walking down the aisle. It paid off! The wedding was sacred and heartfelt.

God wasn't just in the building, he was actively in their lives … and you could feel it.

After the ceremony, the celebration moved to the historic Ford Piquette Plant in Detroit - the birthplace of the Model T and stage for many of America’s greatest automotive achievements. Years ago, the building fell into disrepair and was slated for demolition. Thankfully, it was resurrected by a group of dedicated citizens and community activists. Now the site is a historic landmark operating as a museum, learning center, and event space!

Part of the building is still being resurrected, which is very exciting for any current or upcoming brides!

The night was filled with dancing, celebration, good food, and of course - love *cue “aww” card *

This isn’t something you can really plan for a wedding - yes, you can plan the spot and the people, but you can’t plan this ENERGY!

Can you even believe how happy and cool they both look???

Instead of table numbers, Alyssa and Nick did a unique seating chart and assigned “streets”. Of course each street was significant to those seated there! To not overpower the history of the space, they opted for a black, white, and champagne palette for the tables with delicate bud vases and votives for the centerpieces.

And of course, they kept things fun and sweet by starting with dessert!

After a few toasts to the couple and all their loved ones, and of course dinner - the dancing began!

Continued prayers for a lifetime of happiness and all life’s countless blessings!
